Iron Bonehead Productions reissues the self-titled debut from Chilean black death thrash metal maniacs Force of Darkness. Recorded with a raw, aggressive spirit, Force of Darkness looks beyond the modern cavernous death metal trend and dives headfirst into the primitive days of the genre, when death metal was still taking shape within the abrasive world of ’80s thrash. Drawing heavily from the likes of Possessed, Slayer, Sepultura, Bathory, Sodom, and early Morbid Angel, the album delivers a chaotic and relentless attack built around razor sharp riffs, wild lead guitar, pounding drums, and harsh vocals. Dark, catchy, and intensely rooted in the classic underground, Force of Darkness captures the spirit of death metal’s formative years without sacrificing its own vicious energy. A must for devotees of raw ’80s death and first wave black metal.
