Released by Ukrainian label Poizon Records. Formed in Alberta in 1986 as Warthorn and renamed Disciples of Power in 1987, this Canadian band developed a distinctive blend of technical thrash and progressive death metal. “Invincible Enemy,” their third album, pushes their complex songwriting further with lengthy, intricate arrangements, shifting rhythms, technical guitar work, and controlled mid-paced brutality. The songs are demanding but carefully structured, combining death metal heaviness with progressive and occasionally surreal elements.
