This fourth album finds this duo continuing down a familiar path, but with some noteworthy expansions to their sound. At its heart, “Kvensgäldr” is a black metal album, as the harsh vocals and distorted guitars synonymous with the genre are prominently featured. However, Vonülfsrëich does not limit itself to a single subgenre of black metal. They incorporate elements from punk, thrash, and even death metal, albeit to a lesser extent. This infusion of influences creates a dynamic and engaging listening experience. Vonülfsrëich avoids getting bogged down in genre specifics.
