Absolutely incredible split that seemed bound to happen by these two reclusive acts of primal Lusitanian Black Metal spectral majesty Two bands that should require no introduction for those who search beyond the veil into realms of transcendence, Nidernes and Candelabrum are undoubtedly two of the most triumphant and special acts of the Portuguese scene in recente years. Nidernes unveils 2 tracks of witching Black Metal mastery. Returning somewhat to the more labyrinthine, weaving guitarwork of the first demo and "Darkness Cenotaph", rooted deeply in Finnish tradition, however still exploring the more distinct elements in "Beyond the Gleam of Nightsky" such as the old school keyboards and clean-ish chants. The result is two tracks of ecstatic transcendence and deep mourn for all living things. Candelabrum on the other hand releases 3 shorter tracks of blissful droning sounds from beyond. The fading twilight and haunting gleam of a thousand eclipses, the more melodious and nostalgic Keys of "Transmutations" are here presente once again, while the guitar work remains simple, sometimes throbbing, others deeply entrancing, carrying the flame of resilience under a layer of rotting moss, where agony and inviduation blend, indistinguishable.
