Sabbaoth’s untimely death machine gun blasted through the extreme metal scene on February 11th, 2021. He was one of those creators whose resolve and vision never faltered and everything he ever worked on reeked of total War, right up until his death. We all know he would have continued to evolve and decimate with his work and this loss is without replacement.

Goatpenis is hugely influential in black/war/noise and their unique style is unmistakable. Throughout the decades they have upheld a level of decimation with solidity, exemplifying integrity to the extreme. Sabbaoth was a pillar of the scene and his contributions are in more than just his output but in his upright being.

Though I’ve never considered TSALAL one for covers, Evandro’s death was something I felt compelled to pay homage to. This is what sparked the idea for this compilation. To utilize War Vellum as a means to pay tribute to Sabbaoth in a bigger way than one band with one cover. The bands contributing are covering a wide variety of songs throughout Goatpenis’ long history and it has come together as one unified assault with clarity of purpose. To pay tribute to Sabbaoth.
