What both individuals have in common is that they have long earned their spurs with many (Belgian) (black) metal bands, and have now each written an atmospheric black metal record that is interpreted in the Flemish mother tongue. Aerdryk's "With the trident on my skin" and "Cagghenvinna" by Oerheks are also a milestone for the breadwinner of service, as the releases represent catalogue numbers AFP199 and AFP200 respectively. The stamping rhythms of the title track are more than once reminiscent of a band like Limbonic Art, although Aerdryk cannot really be labeled as symphonic. The ethereal notes do give a mystical and cosmic accent to the compelling songs that convey a trance-inducing feeling and the attentive listener will detect basslines that each take their own journey. 808 / 5,000 Translation results It is therefore worthwhile to discover "With the trident on my skin" several times through noise canceling headphones so that all disturbing sounds of daily life are banned and you can completely surrender to the music and the emotions that accompany it. Add to the captivating musical part the inspired screams that bring the personal lyrics and every now and then some epic clear vocal notes that sometimes bathe Aerdryk in a religious atmosphere in a song like “Way of the Cross”, and we have listed all the ingredients of this masterful record. “With the trident on my skin” is already one of my personal absolute favorites of 2022 and will undoubtedly grow into a modern classic from our own black soil at the Jokkemans household.
